What Are Macros and Why Do They Matter?
Macronutrients (macros) are the three main nutrients your body needs in large amounts: protein, carbohydrates, and fat. Each plays a different role -- protein builds and repairs muscle, carbs provide energy, and fat supports hormones and cell function.
Tracking macros is more precise than just counting calories because it ensures you're getting the right balance of nutrients for your specific goal. For weight loss, higher protein helps preserve muscle while in a calorie deficit. For muscle building, higher carbs fuel workouts and higher protein supports growth.
Always consult a registered dietitian or healthcare provider before making significant changes to your diet.
